Sorry guys, but as I am in a bit of a rush this week, I am just going to post links to 3 great articles instead of typing out an article for you.
I figure this pandemic had many of us couped up for a while, and we may have lost some of that strength and stamina. Or maybe you are new to backpacking, and not quite sure what your limitations are yet. In any case, backpacking is a physical challenge, utilizing muscles we didn't even know we had.
Here are three great articles that will help you build up the strength, endurance and stamina you will need for your next adventure!
Strengthen Your Knees for Hiking
Creaky knees? Strengthen your joints with supine leg lifts to prevent pain and buckling during long descents with heavy loads. Bonus: Your ankles and hips will benefit, too. Perform this circuit with 3- to 5-pound ankle weights.
4 Exercises to Build Trail-Worthy Ankle Strength
These moves will help you make an injury-free transition to lightweight hiking shoes without risking a sprain.
3 Exercises to Injury-Proof Your Joints
Strengthen joints and banish sprains for good.

(Sunday, August 30, 2020)
Hello everyone,
It's Sunday and time for Adventure Weekly Volume 13. As promised, with all the multiday event cancellations, I have been able to fill in those weeks with day hikes. We are back to a bi-weekly day hike schedule, with 4 day hikes planned. See all the information for the hikes below! I have recieved another communication from work. They still have not set a reopening date, and by the looks of things, it is still more than a month away. But just a reminder, when I do get called back, I will most likely lose my weekends for a while, and will have to shut down the hiking for a bit. Or I may try a few weekday hikes if I can get some response to it. I am preparing this email early, as I will be off grid for the next three days. Since all the NAC trips this year have been cancelled, and I really didn't get out that much, myself along with 2 friends are going to go get lost in the woods for a few days. Hopefully we will make it back. That's all the news for this week. As always, stay safe, and happy hiking! Lenny Burch Niagara Adventure Club
