Saturday, September 9, 2023:
Waking up with the sunrise, we will enjoy a quiet camp breakfast and hot beverage before packing up camp and heading into Tobermory to park our vehicles at the finish line. From there, we will board our transportation to the Crane Lake entrance of the Bruce Trail to begin our 3 day journey. We will hike the Bruce Trail for 18kms this day and enjoy sites only available in this area before arriving at Stormhaven Backcountry Camp. Once we finish setting up camp, we will make a much deserved meal and talk about the days activities before settling in for the night under the stars.
Sunday, September 10, 2023:
We will wake to the sound of nature and prepare breakfast. After fueling up, we will break camp and continue along the Bruce Trail for 2.8kms to the famous Grotto. After exploring the Grotto and all the beauty it has to offer, we will hike 12kms on the Bruce Trail to Little Cove Rd. At this point we will break off the Bruce Trail and continue 3kms down the road to Tobermory Village Campgrounds. Here we will again set up camp, have a hot meal by the fire, and enjoy a hot shower before heading to bed.
Monday, September 11, 2023:
As the sun hits our tents, we will wake to begin breakfast and break camp. You may wish to use some of the ammenities of the campground before we head off on our day hike. We will hike 9kms before reaching the 3.5km Burnt Point Loop Sidetrail. Once we complete the loop that offers some incredible views of its own, we will continue on the Bruce Trail for another 1.5kms where will reach the end of the Bruce Trail and visit the Bruce Trail Northern Terminus! After getting some photos at the Terminus, we will walk a few hundred meters back to the cars and the end of our trip.
As this will be an Autumn hike, the nights will be cool. Proper attire and gear is absolutely necessary, as well as basic skills and knowledge to ensure an enjoyable trip.
